Description
This two-piece split-cane fly fishing rod was manufactured by Hardy Brothers Ltd. in Alnwick, England. The bamboo sections feature handwritten script identifying the model as The Wye Rod along with reference markings A16070, No 2469, and Reg No 36. A metal component on the rod is stamped with patent number 20875/22 and the maker mark Hardy Bros Ltd Makers Alnwick Eng. The rod is constructed with a cork handle and metal reel seat. The lot includes its original canvas storage bag, which features a woven label noting a royal appointment to the late King George V.
