Monogrammed Lower Left. History – Sir Hugh Maxwell Casson received a knighthood for his role as Director of Architecture for the South Bank exhibition at the 1951 Festival of Britain. Senior partner in the Casson Conder Partnership and headed the interior design department at the Royal College of Art. Elected President of the Royal Academy of Arts in 1976.
