Description
An original wildlife painting by Arthur Spencer Roberts depicting a leopard cat (Prionailurus bengalensis). The subject is shown perched upon a wooden branch amidst a background of dense green foliage. The work is executed in a naturalist style with attention to the feline’s spotted coat and facial features. The painting is signed SPENCER ROBERTS and dated 1994 in the lower right corner. It is professionally mounted with an off-white mat and housed in a dark brown decorative wooden frame featuring a ridged texture. Affixed to the reverse of the frame is a printed invitation for a posthumous retrospective exhibition of the artist’s work held at the Hastings Museum and Art Gallery in 1998.
