Description
A set of hand-worked needlepoint pillows featuring traditional timber-framed, thatched-roof cottage scenes, attributed to the Village of Welford series by Anchor. The collection illustrates the four seasons through variations in color and foliage. The spring scene includes pink blossoms and light green foliage with a light blue border. The summer scene depicts lush green trees and a church tower in the background with a dark green border. The autumn scene shows golden and yellow trees with a tan border. The winter scene illustrates a snow-covered landscape with bare trees and a dark border. Each piece is hand-stitched in wool or cotton yarn on canvas and finished as a rectangular accent pillow. No maker marks, signatures, or labels are visible on the faces of the items.
