Lot 180:
Description
This collection consists of a diverse group of decorative and functional objects in silver-plated items, featuring designs characteristic of the Victorian, Rococo Revival, and Art Nouveau periods. The tabletop hollowware includes a large circular lidded tureen with ornate floral and foliate engraving, twin scroll handles, and a pedestal base. Also included are two small creamers, one with heavy floral repousse work and the other with a simpler form on a three-footed base, a two-handled sugar bowl, and a novelty sugar server shaped like a coal scuttle with an accompanying scoop. Functional table accessories comprise a wine funnel, a cup holder sleeve with pierced ajoure scrollwork, a pair of knife rests with ball terminals, and two bottle stoppers with cork bases and animal-form finials. The vanity portion of the collection features three ornate hand mirrors or brushes with high-relief repousse backing, including designs with a central cherub, Art Nouveau floral motifs, and dense classical leaf patterns. No hallmarks, maker’s marks, or assay stamps are clearly visible in the provided images to confirm metal purity or origin.
