Lot 267:
Description
This lot features two hand-blown studio art glass vases from Mdina glassworks, founded by Michael Harris in Malta. Both pieces are decorated in the maker’s signature Sea and Sand pattern, which utilizes a teal blue glass body accented with cream and yellow inclusions. The first vase is a tall-necked form with a bulbous body and a wide, flared rim, featuring a vertical pulled feather or flame-like pattern. The second vase is a compressed bulbous form with two small protrusion wing handles on the shoulders and a short flared neck, decorated with horizontal bands and dark particulate speckling. Both pieces are hand-signed Mdina on the underside and feature polished pontil marks.
