Description
This antique tabletop scroll frame is designed for embroidery or tapestry work. The construction features a solid rectangular wooden base with two vertical turned uprights. These uprights are equipped with hand-cut wooden threading that supports two adjustable horizontal scroll bars. The height and tension of these bars are controlled by four large circular wooden screw nuts. Each horizontal bar is fitted with a strip of original canvas webbing intended for tacking needlework in place. The frame is crafted from a finished hardwood with a warm reddish-brown patina and includes small brass hardware accents. No maker marks, stamps, or labels are visible on the surface of the piece.
