Lot 233:
Description
A framed commemorative photographic print celebrating the service history of the British Airways Concorde supersonic airliner. The central image depicts the aircraft in flight against a backdrop of dark, dramatic clouds, shown in its final British Airways livery with the “Chatham Dockyard” Union Flag tail fin design. The aircraft is captured in a climbing profile, with the nose droop and landing gear visible.
Below the photograph, a rectangular gold-toned plaque is mounted to the mat. The plaque features a printed black inscription in serif lettering that reads: “To Commemorate The Service Of British Airways Concorde 21st January 1976 24th October 2003”. The dates correspond to the full operational lifespan of the Concorde fleet under British Airways.
The piece is presented in an off-white mat with a beveled edge, housed in a dark wood-finish frame featuring a gold-toned inner fillet. The backing and hanging hardware are not visible.
