Description
This lot features a wooden scale model ship of the 18th-century British frigate HMS Unicorn. The model is constructed from wood and features a detailed hull, three masts, and full rigging with white cloth sails. It is adorned with various flags, including a Union Jack and the White Ensign. The stern is decorated with gilded carvings and detailed window galleries. The plaque on the base is inscribed 1747 HMS UNICORN in stylised script. The model is housed within a rectangular glass and wood display case.
Condition report:
The model is in good overall condition. Light surface dust and cobwebs are visible on the rigging. There is a small hairline crack in the nameplate.
