Description
This redware ceramic sculpture is executed in the West Mexican Colima style, depicting two canine figures in an upright dancing or wrestling pose. The hollow-form piece is finished with a burnished red slip and exhibits characteristic dark fire-clouding and scattered mineral deposits across the surface. Decorative elements include incised lines detailing the rib cages, facial features, and concentric swirling patterns on the head of one figure. Small circular vent holes are located on the torsos, which is a standard technical feature in this ceramic tradition.
