Lot 252:
Description
This near pair of Victorian-style mahogany bedside cabinets, also known as pot cupboards, is constructed with white marble tops over mahogany carcasses. Each cabinet features a rectangular marble top with rounded front corners and natural gray veining. The mahogany bodies are designed with rounded front corners and a single inset paneled door that opens to an interior compartment. Each unit rests on a molded plinth base and is of one-piece construction. The hardware is mismatched, consisting of brass hinges with a dark turned wood knob on the left cabinet and a white ceramic knob on the right cabinet. No maker marks, labels, or stamps are visible on the exterior or tops of the items.
