Lot 265:
Description
This collection consists of several decorative glass light shades featuring different glassmaking techniques. Included are molded art glass shades designed in a stylized flame motif with a heavy undulating texture. These shades are composed of translucent pale rose pink glass with a matte frosted finish, created through press-molding and acid-etching. The design is executed in the Art Deco style, resembling the work of French glassmakers such as Lalique or Sabino. Also included is a clear cut crystal shade in a pointed pinecone form. This piece features hand-cut decoration including deep vertical mitre cuts and panels of fine diamond-point cutting. The crystal shade is fitted with a brass-toned metal gallery characterized by openwork scroll cut-outs and a single thumb-screw for attachment. No maker marks, signatures, or labels are visible on the glass or metal components.
