Lot 162:
Description
This is a 19th-century style mantel portico clock, possibly of German origin and resembling designs by the Hamburg American Clock Company (HAC). The portico-style case is crafted from dark-stained hardwood, featuring a circular top and base connected by four turned columns with brass-toned metal capitals and bases. The top is crowned with a turned wood and brass-toned metal pinecone finial. The circular dial features black Arabic numerals on a surface with remnants of a painted floral motif. The clock is equipped with a mechanical time-only movement and a single winding arbor positioned between the 7 and 8 o’clock marks. It includes a visible swinging pendulum with an embossed decorative brass bob featuring a central floral medallion.
