Description
A glazed ceramic figurine of a winking cat produced by Lauder Barum Pottery of Barnstaple, Devon, England. This stylized “grotesque” figure features an elongated neck and a ridged spine that terminates in a small scroll-form tail. The cat is modeled with a highly characterful expression, featuring one open eye and one winked eye set above a wide, grinning mouth. The piece is finished in a glossy two-tone glaze scheme, with a pale mint green upper section transitioning to a rich chocolate brown on the legs and base. The underside features a clearly incised two-line mark reading LAUDER BARUM.
