Description
A Victorian cylindrical water filter vessel manufactured by Doulton and Co. of Lambeth, London. The piece is crafted from salt glazed stoneware featuring a two tone color scheme of dark brown on the upper portion and a lighter tan on the main body. The exterior surface is articulated with several raised horizontal bands. The vessel includes its original recessed lid which has a central knob and a vent hole. A circular opening for a spigot or tap is located near the base. The upper shoulder is impressed with the circular maker mark for Doulton and Co. Lambeth London.
