Description
A vintage pendant necklace featuring a polished heart-shaped tiger eye gemstone cabochon. The natural gemstone displays characteristic golden-brown chatoyant banding and is secured in a 9 karat yellow gold decorative setting. The setting features a stylized floral or leaf-form gallery that wraps around the top portion of the heart. The pendant is suspended from a circular jump ring attached to a fine yellow gold rope-link chain, which secures with a spring ring clasp. The underside of the decorative pendant setting is struck with several hallmarks in a vertical arrangement: a rectangular cartouche containing the numerals 375, a circular mark that appears to be a leopard head or similar symbol, and two additional marks that are not clearly legible as specific characters. The 375 mark indicates 9 karat gold purity. The arrangement and style of the stamps are consistent with British hallmarking standards from the London assay office.
