Description
An 18 karat yellow gold band ring featuring a heavily textured, organic surface finish. The exterior of the band is worked into a continuous “bark” or “nugget” design characterized by irregular vertical and horizontal ridges. Set into the upper half of the band are six rectangular step-cut stones, consistent in appearance with baguette-cut diamonds. The stones are arranged in a staggered, diagonal orientation and are secured within the textured gold setting, which overlaps the edges of the gems. The interior of the shank is polished smooth and bears several stamped marks. These include a crown symbol within a square, the fineness mark “750” inside a lozenge, a leopard’s head symbol, and an uppercase letter in a shield, which appears to be an “L”. The leopard’s head mark indicates the piece was hallmarked at the London Assay Office.
