Lot 270:
Description
A machine-woven tapestry wall hanging featuring a classic floral still life composition. The central design depicts an overflowing basket of flowers, including tulips, roses, and peonies, set against a dark blue ground. The bouquet is framed by a wide border of scrolling acanthus leaves and floral motifs in shades of gold, pink, and tan. The piece is constructed with a blue woven face panel and is fully lined on the reverse with a cream-colored fabric. A wide fabric sleeve is sewn across the top edge of the backing to accommodate a hanging rod. No maker marks, labels, or signatures are visible on the front or the reverse lining.
