Description
This late 18th or early 19th-century oval portrait miniature pendant features a painted portrait of a young gentleman. The subject is rendered in three-quarter view with powdered hair, a high-collared white cravat, and a dark teal coat against a sky-blue and white background. The miniature is housed in a gold-toned metal frame equipped with a simple suspension loop. The reverse of the pendant contains a basket-weave design of brown hair secured under a glass panel, which is surrounded by a decorative chased metal border. A small contemporary sticker marked with the number 10 is affixed to the reverse glass.
