Description
A commemorative 24K gold-plated model of a Korean Turtle Ship, also known as a Geobukseon. The metal model features a dragon-head prow, a deck covered in spikes, two masts with textured sails, and a series of oars along the hull. A black flag mounted on a mast displays the Hanja character 龜. The model is housed in a clear acrylic display case with a red velvet-lined interior and a dark wood base. Two gold-toned plaques are mounted inside the case; one identifies the piece as a Samsung commemorative item and the other provides historical information regarding Admiral Yi Sun-shin and specifies Gold Plating 24K. The set is contained within a blue velvet-covered presentation box with a decorative metal clasp.
