Description
This is a Victorian-style upholstered slipper chair, designed as a low-seated, armless parlor chair. The piece is upholstered in a mustard-yellow woven fabric with deep button tufting on the backrest and a welted seat edge. The chair is supported by two front turned wooden legs with a dark stain, terminating in metal casters. The rear legs are square-sectioned and splayed in a sabre-style for stability. The construction is characteristic of mid-to-late 19th-century furniture design. No maker marks or identifying labels are visible on the frame.
