Lot 30:
Description
This is an early to mid-20th century military Sam Browne belt and single diagonal cross-shoulder strap. The set is constructed from heavy-gauge dark brown leather. The waist belt features a large, rectangular brass double-prong buckle and multiple sets of adjustment holes for sizing. It includes several brass D-rings intended for the attachment of the cross-strap and other field equipment. An interior sliding brass clasp is present for securing the belt. While faint impressions are visible on the interior leather surface and the brass slider, they are too worn to be transcribed or identified. The overall design and construction are consistent with officer patterns used by various military forces during the World War I and World War II eras.
