Description
An English earthenware novelty teapot modeled in the form of a standing rooster with relief-molded feather textures. The open beak serves as the pouring spout, while the high-arched tail feathers form the handle. The piece features a removable lid integrated into the center of the bird’s back. It is finished in a multi-colored glaze including shades of orange, yellow, red, green, blue, and black, and stands on a circular base glazed to resemble grass. An English origin is indicated by the green printed backstamp on the underside which reads MADE IN ENGLAND, accompanied by the pattern name ROOSTER and a registration number REG. No. 810175. A small black character resembling a slanted numeral 4 or stylized letter h is hand-painted near the footrim.
