Lot 227:
Description
An Irish Parian porcelain vase featuring a pearlescent luster glaze and the Donegal pattern. The vessel is designed with a bulbous, dimpled lower body and a tall, flared neck. The neck and its scalloped, ruffled rim are decorated with relief-molded floral and trellis motifs. Four clusters of green shamrocks are hand-painted onto the body. The underside of the base bears a brown printed mark consisting of a graphic of a round tower, a wolfhound, and a Celtic harp flanked by shamrock sprigs. The text BELLEEK is printed in a banner above the word IRELAND. A registered trademark symbol (R) is positioned to the left of the harp. A rectangular cream-colored adhesive label is also present on the base, reading DONEGAL VASE 1025.
