Lot 229:
Description
A pair of dark stained wooden panels featuring ornate high relief hand carved decoration. The carving displays a dense composition of foliate and floral motifs, including large blossoms and acanthus leaves, alongside clusters of fruit resembling grapes and pomegranates. Each panel is fitted with two cylindrical wooden pegs protruding from the front face for use as coat racks. The carving style is consistent with the Baroque or Rococo Revival movements of the late 19th century. The longer panel features a more elongated arrangement of these motifs, while the shorter panel focuses on a centralized floral design flanked by scrolling foliage. No maker marks, signatures, or labels are visible on the front or sides of either piece.
