Description
A color lithograph titled Biscuits by David Shepherd, depicting an intimate domestic interior. The scene features a woman seated in a wooden chair, cradling an infant, while a young child in a white nightgown sits on the floor interacting with a small black terrier. The room is illuminated by the warm glow of a fireplace on the left. Decorative details include a pull-along toy train on the mantelpiece and a plush animal toy resting on the floor. This print is a limited edition, numbered 1085/1200 in pencil in the lower right margin. It bears a hand-applied pencil signature in the lower right margin reading David Shepherd. The lower left margin contains a printed remarque of the terrier’s head and an embossed circular publisher’s seal containing the stylized letters S and W. Centered in the lower margin is the printed title and artist information reading BISCUITS by David Shepherd, O.B.E. A printed copyright line in the lower left corner of the image reads © Solomon & Whitehead 1988. The artwork is presented in a professional triple-layered mat and housed in a dark wood frame featuring a beaded inner gilt border.
